Commercial Operations Specialist

About the role

The Commercial Operations Specialist will support Baker Hughes’ Process & Pipeline Services team in delivering high‑quality commercial proposals and managing contract risk across the North East England region. You will act as the central point for bid preparation, contract review and commercial system accuracy, ensuring proposals meet customer requirements and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tenders, proposals and pre‑qualification responses, covering technical, commercial and contractual aspects.
• Lead bid preparation activities in line with Inquiry‑to‑Order (ITO) processes and coordinate with regional leadership.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop bid strategies, identify risk review needs and mitigate commercial risks.
• Maintain accurate bid data in Baker Hughes commercial systems and ensure timely entry.
• Own the contract review process, acting as the focal point for contractual risk management.
• Support the upkeep of customer contracts and Master Service Agreements (MSAs) across the region.
• Provide coaching, training and operational support to strengthen Commercial Operations capabilities.
• Contribute to process simplification initiatives that reduce cycle time, improve service quality and lower costs.

Required profile

• Strong commercial acumen with experience in bid management and contract review.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on delivering proposals on schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency in preparing commercial proposals and tender documentation.
• Experience using commercial or ERP systems for bid data management.
• Knowledge of contract risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
