Commercial Property Lawyer

About the role

The Legists are seeking a Commercial Property Lawyer to join their team in Greater Manchester. Working within the Government Legal Department framework, you will provide high‑profile legal advice to a range of public sector clients, handling both advisory and litigation matters related to commercial property.

Key responsibilities

• Advise government departments on commercial property transactions, leases and regulatory issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, licences and other legal documents.
• Manage a caseload of property‑related disputes, representing clients in court where required.
• Collaborate with ministers, senior officials and other legal professionals across departments.
• Stay updated on legislative changes affecting commercial property and convey this knowledge to stakeholders.

Required profile

• A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
• Strong analytical judgement with the ability to provide balanced, risk‑based advice.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues clearly.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.

Required skills

• Qualified legal professional status (Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive).
