Commercial Solicitor - Digital

About the role

This position offers a Commercial Solicitor with a digital focus the chance to join a nationally recognised law firm in Southampton. You will work on a broad range of commercial and technology matters, supporting both private and public sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on major digital transformation programmes and complex technology transactions.
• Draft and negotiate software licensing, IT services, procurement and outsourcing agreements.
• Provide strategic counsel on data protection, privacy, cybersecurity and emerging technologies such as generative AI.
• Support day‑to‑day commercial contracts, supply‑chain arrangements and product‑development projects.
• Manage all stages of transactions, from drafting through risk assessment and regulatory compliance.
• Assist clients with international expansion, particularly into the USA and Saudi Arabia.

Required profile

• UK‑qualified solicitor with at least three years PQE (flexible on exact experience).
• Solid background in commercial contracts and/or digital, technology or data‑protection work.
• Experience gained in a leading city, national or respected regional firm, or a relevant in‑house environment.
• Confident handling of high‑value transactions and client interaction.
• Clear, practical communication of complex legal issues.
