Commercial Solicitor – Education Law (6+ PQE)

About the role

The Legists are seeking an experienced Commercial Solicitor to join their leading education law team in Manchester. You will work on high‑profile commercial matters for universities, schools and educational charities, both in the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of commercial agreements, including joint ventures, service contracts and partnership arrangements.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial documentation for overseas university branch campuses.
• Provide proactive legal guidance on commercial risk, compliance and strategic business decisions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships across the education sector.
• Collaborate with senior partners and other practice areas to deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) handling commercial matters.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in the education sector.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate legal advice into business‑focused recommendations.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
