Commercial Solicitor – Self‑Employed Consultant

About the role

Richard Nelson LLP is seeking experienced commercial solicitors to join its national consultancy model as self‑employed consultants. The role offers the freedom to work remotely or from office while building and managing your own client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a full commercial law caseload independently, from initial client contact through to resolution.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, generating new business and meeting billing targets.
• Provide expert legal advice and representation in commercial, contractual and disciplinary matters.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, professional indemnity requirements and firm policies.
• Collaborate with the firm’s compliance, admin and accounts teams to streamline case administration.

Required profile

• Senior solicitor with post‑qualification experience in commercial law.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and achieve a minimum billing of £100,000 per annum.
• Existing client following or demonstrated business development capability.
• Commitment to the firm’s values of integrity, expertise and client‑focused service.
