Commercial Underwriter

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Underwriter to join a leading insurance business in the South East. The successful candidate will drive profitable underwriting of commercial property and casualty risks, support trading team targets and develop strong broker relationships across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial property and/or casualty risks in line with profitability targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers to grow the book of business.
• Assess risk exposures, set appropriate pricing and terms.
• Collaborate with the trading team to achieve regional underwriting goals.
• Provide expert advice on commercial lines and act as a regional underwriting specialist.

Required profile

• Proven experience underwriting property and/or casualty commercial risks.
• Ability to negotiate and trade with brokers to expand business.
• Background in an insurer or commercial broking environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and commercial awareness.

• Underwriting of commercial property and casualty lines.
