Communications Manager – Air Media & Communications

About the role

The Royal Air Force Air Media and Communications team is looking for an ambitious, creative and digitally‑driven Communications Manager. You will help shape and deliver engaging content while supporting the RAF Communications Strategy across internal and external audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Strategy & Plans team in delivering the RAF Communications Strategy and building strong relationships across the RAF communications network.
• Write compelling digital content for senior leaders, ensuring consistency with RAF objectives.
• Develop and implement communications plans for campaigns, collaborating with cross‑government stakeholders and external partners.
• Represent the team at external meetings and provide feedback to drive actions.
• Assist the Insight, Data and Evaluation manager with routine data analysis of Air Media content.
• Contribute creative ideas for new campaigns and digital/social media engagement.
• Organise and chair regular team meetings, driving productivity and collaboration.
• Manage administrative tasks and communications processes efficiently.
• Build and maintain partnerships with cross‑government colleagues, stakeholders and the RAF media & communicators network.

Required profile

• Ambitious, creative and digitally‑focused mindset.
• Strong written communication skills, especially for senior‑level digital content.
• Experience working with cross‑government or multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Ability to analyse data and translate insights into communications actions.
• Proactive organiser with excellent collaboration skills.
