Communications Manager – Merchant Announcements

About the role

Checkout.com is looking for a Communications Manager to join its Communications and Content team. In this role you will own the end‑to‑end delivery of high‑impact merchant announcements, coordinating across Commercial, Brand, Creative and Communications to bring high‑profile payment stories to market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end coordination of hero merchant announcements, managing timelines and stakeholder alignment.
• Create PR and social copy and supporting assets with accuracy and commercial relevance.
• Build strong relationships with account managers, regional marketing leads and merchants to keep the announcement flow moving.
• Brief channel owners across PR, social and owned media to ensure consistent, on‑time execution.
• Maintain a healthy pipeline of upcoming announcements, prioritising by commercial impact.
• Own the reporting framework, tracking PR hits, social impressions and share of voice for senior stakeholders.
• Continuously improve the announcements programme, from briefing templates to post‑publication analysis.

Required profile

• Experience in communications, content or PR, preferably in B2B or fintech, with a track record of managing complex multi‑stakeholder announcements.
• AI‑fluent: comfortable using LLMs and related tools for drafting and brainstorming.
• Strong writing skills across formats, from press releases to LinkedIn captions.
• Natural coordinator who keeps projects on track and earns trust from commercial and creative teams.
• Data‑literate and outcomes‑focused, understanding earned media and paid social performance metrics.
• Comfortable managing up and across, able to hold timelines with senior account managers and represent the comms team.
