About the Role

Join the Villagers Connect project, a vital community initiative dedicated to fostering strong, dynamic, and resilient connections within the villages of Colgate, Faygate, and Rusper. As a Community Development Worker, you will play a key role in empowering local residents, particularly those over 65, by building trust and independence through an asset-based approach.

Main Missions

  • Implement community engagement strategies to reduce social isolation and strengthen local ties.
  • Support elderly residents in accessing essential services and improving their overall quality of life.
  • Identify and nurture local strengths to support existing projects and develop new community activities.
  • Facilitate connections between the three parishes to enhance social cohesion and resilience.
  • Work closely with a small, active team to promote autonomy among individuals and local organizations.

Candidate Profile

  • Passionate about community building and social welfare in rural settings.
  • Empathetic and skilled in engaging with elderly populations and diverse community groups.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently in the field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and foster long-term relationships.
  • Ability to adopt an asset-based approach to community development.
