Community Mental Health Nurse (Band 6)

About the role

The Adult Community Mental Health Service in the Scottish Borders is seeking a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse. This permanent role offers a lifestyle‑changing opportunity to work in a rural setting with easy access to major cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. You will join a team that delivers person‑centred, recovery‑focused care for adults living with mental health conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, goal‑oriented mental health nursing care within the community.
• Support the service transformation programme and contribute to service development.
• Deliver care Monday to Friday, 9 am–5 pm, in accordance with NHS standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Promote strength‑based and recovery‑focused approaches in everyday practice.

Required profile

• Highly motivated with strong leadership and clinical abilities.
• Sound knowledge of current mental health nursing practice.
• Experience in community mental health settings is advantageous.
• Commitment to working in a rural environment and supporting local residents.
