Community Mentor – Alternative Provision (High Wycombe)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Community Mentor to work within an established Alternative Provision setting. You will support children and young people across High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, helping them overcome barriers to education and develop confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 mentoring and educational support tailored to each young person’s needs.
• Design and run creative intervention sessions to encourage engagement with learning.
• Support pupils with social, emotional, behavioural and additional learning needs.
• Collaborate with families, schools and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to individual learning and support plans.

Required profile

• Experience in supporting children or young people in education, mentoring, youth work, outreach or pastoral care.
• Patient, adaptable and resilient with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Confidence working independently and managing a schedule across multiple locations.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
