Community Rehabilitation Service Specialist Occupational Therapist

About the role

This permanent Band 6 position is based at Maryhill Health Centre and offers an HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist the chance to work autonomously within the North West Rehabilitation Service. You will manage a complex caseload of older and disabled adults across community settings, promoting independence and supporting timely hospital discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, treat and provide interventions for older and disabled adults in homes and Discharge to Assess units.
• Promote self‑management, avoid unnecessary hospital admissions and facilitate safe discharge.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary assessments, case coordination and duty cover.
• Supervise staff and students, lead health‑promotion activities and participate in audit and service development.
• Travel across the North West of Glasgow to deliver community‑based care.

Required profile

• HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist, Band 6.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of community practice, older‑people care or neurological conditions (desirable).
