Community Staff Nurse – Full‑time Permanent (B5)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Community Staff Nurse (Band 5) to join the NE District Nursing Service at Bridgeton Health Centre, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. In this community‑based position you will provide high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care to patients in their own homes, supporting independence and delivering urgent and unscheduled interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective nursing care to a community caseload in partnership with patients, families and carers.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans and implement evidence‑based interventions.
• Perform complex nursing procedures and manage long‑term conditions.
• Work autonomously while collaborating with the District Nurse and multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond promptly to planned and unscheduled care needs, prioritising urgent cases.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards and policies.
• Contribute to team development through mentoring, audits and service improvement activities.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC UK PIN (Part 1 or equivalent).
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and NMC revalidation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and make sound clinical decisions in a community setting.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving and teamwork abilities.
