Company Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a versatile Company Accountant to join the finance team of a leading international corporate group operating in premium transport, logistics and high‑end asset management. The role offers exposure to high‑value asset sales, complex operational management and international treasury functions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the General Ledger, trial balance, profit & loss and balance sheet for UK entities.
• Manage multi‑currency transactions (GBP, EUR, USD), bank reconciliations and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Oversee accounts receivable, credit control, billing, accounts payable and inter‑company cost allocations across multiple entities.
• Track and record high‑value stock and fixed assets.
• Ensure UK VAT compliance, preparing and submitting quarterly returns.
• Handle day‑to‑day bookkeeping for a newly established European branch.
• Execute month‑end closing procedures, including accruals, variance analysis and profitability reviews.
• Prepare management reporting decks for senior stakeholders and lenders.
• Support migration to a cloud‑based ERP system and drive finance process automation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting experience in retail, corporate or asset‑intensive environments.
• Strong understanding of multi‑currency accounting and high‑touch commercial operations.
• AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) and progression towards a professional accounting qualification.

• Competitive salary £38,000‑£45,000 per annum.
