Complex Claims Owner – Home Insurance

About the role

As a Complex Claims Owner within Lloyds Banking Group Insurance, you will manage a diverse portfolio of high‑value home insurance claims, including losses over £50k, legal liabilities and complex perils such as subsidence. The role is based in Halifax and operates on a hybrid schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex claim caseloads from investigation through to resolution.
• Lead recovery identification, legal handling and fraud detection activities.
• Collaborate with internal claims teams to optimise service delivery and control indemnity spend.
• Interpret insurance contracts and ensure compliance with FCA, ABI and Group standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in general insurance claims handling, preferably with high‑value or complex property claims.
• Strong understanding of legal principles, recovery processes and fraud investigation.
• Desire to obtain or already hold CII/CILX/BDMA Ins Tech or equivalent qualifications.
• Knowledge of property construction, building repairs and basic legal concepts.
