About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Reading. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of complex learning, physical and additional needs, working closely with teachers and specialist staff.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with complex needs.
- Support pupils with learning, communication and sensory activities.
- Assist with personalised learning plans and classroom activities.
- Help pupils develop independence and essential life skills.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs (SEN) or a strong willingness to develop in this area.
- A caring, patient and compassionate attitude, able to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
