Compliance Counsel – Remote Contract

About the role

Legally.io is seeking a remote Compliance Counsel to ensure that its legal‑tech platform operates in line with all relevant regulations. The role is contract‑based and will involve providing strategic legal advice while supporting the creation and review of contractual documents.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research on regulatory requirements, including GDPR and data‑privacy laws.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, templates, and other legal documents.
• Assess current company practices, identify compliance gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Develop and update internal policies and procedures to reflect best practices.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed compliance considerations into the platform.

Required profile

• Qualified law degree (LLB or equivalent); legal qualification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, legal research, and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, GDPR, and data‑privacy regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and manage multiple tasks.
