Compliance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead and evolve the compliance framework for a growing international insurance business based in Bristol. Reporting to senior leadership, you will provide pragmatic regulatory guidance, support governance, and ensure alignment with FCA and PRA expectations while enabling strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the company’s compliance framework across the UK operation.
• Provide trusted regulatory advice to the Board, executive team and other senior stakeholders.
• Monitor, interpret and implement regulatory developments from the FCA and PRA.
• Develop, maintain and enhance compliance policies, controls and governance processes.
• Support regulatory reporting, notifications and ongoing regulator engagement.
• Promote a strong compliance culture and work closely with Risk, Legal and Audit teams.
• Progressively assume responsibility for SMF16 and SMF17 functions as the role evolves.

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance within insurance or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of FCA and PRA regulatory requirements.
• Commercially focused mindset with ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ICA, CII) are desirable.
