Composites Fitter

About the role

ICOMAT is seeking a skilled Composites Fitter to join its advanced manufacturing team. You will work on high‑performance composite components for aerospace, automotive, defence and space applications, ensuring precise assembly and bonding in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform controlled structural adhesive bonding, including surface preparation, application, curing and validation.
• Assemble composite components according to drawings, CAD files or MoM, using appropriate fixturing.
• Execute small‑scale fettling tasks with approved equipment and processes.
• Inspect, maintain and calibrate jigs and fixtures in line with tooling documentation.
• Follow Health & Safety and COSHH requirements for all materials.
• Maintain accurate documentation and job bookings.
• Report assembly or component issues to the Line Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a fitter in a manufacturing or engineering setting, preferably with composites.
• Vocational training or certification in mechanical fitting, engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
• Team‑oriented with effective communication across departments.
• Commitment to a safe working environment.
