About the role
Bradford College, an award‑winning further education institution, is seeking a Computing Lecturer to deliver high‑quality, inspiring teaching in Computing. You will challenge educational and social disadvantage and help students achieve high standards of learning and achievement.
Key responsibilities
- Teach on courses specified by the Head of Department or Head of School.
- Motivate students, build self‑esteem and develop a “can‑do” attitude.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents and carers.
- Participate in open events, consultation evenings and curriculum development.
- Support enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of learners.
- Design individual learning plans and provide tailored support.
- Develop Plans of Learning for the taught curriculum.
Required profile
- Degree level education (or equivalent) and a recognised teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
- Evidence of continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- GCSE (or equivalent) grades A*‑C in Mathematics and English.
- Specialist knowledge in at least one computing area (e.g., Programming, Software Development, Application Development, Networking, Cyber Security).
- Proven successful teaching experience, including pastoral or form‑tutor duties for 16‑19 year olds.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams, interactive whiteboards, Moodle and other digital resources.
- Experience delivering further‑education programmes and assessment with awarding organisations.
