Configuration Controller

About the role

The Configuration Controller will sit at the heart of a major high-speed rail infrastructure programme, ensuring that all technical changes are governed through a rigorous process. You will act as the central hub for Technical Change Requests and Technical Authority Communications, coordinating their journey from initiation to board approval and implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Register, check, coordinate and track Technical Change Requests and Technical Authority Communications.
• Prepare comprehensive submission packs and produce weekly progress reports.
• Maintain work instructions, training material and configuration management documentation.
• Provide hands-on support to Configuration Managers during baseline updates and submissions.
• Collaborate daily with engineers, project teams and commercial managers across multiple contracts, chasing progress and resolving blockers.
• Ensure stakeholders are kept informed throughout the change lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a structured change-control environment within a large, complex programme.
• Strong understanding of configuration management standards and document management practices.
• Ability to manage high volumes of data quickly and accurately.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage across diverse teams.
• Visible, proactive approach to governance of technical change.

What we offer

• Salary £55,000‑£60,000 per annum.
• 12% pension contribution.
