Configuration Management Specialist – A220 Wing

About the role

Step into a vital leadership position at Airbus Belfast as a Configuration Management Specialist for the A220 wing programme. You will act as the cross‑functional linchpin, driving engineering change control, integrating advanced tools and mentoring a dedicated team to protect critical aircraft delivery schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the engineering change process and configuration management pillar for the A220 wing.
• Secure stakeholder alignment, obtain approvals and act as the Lever focal point for programme integration.
• Support or stand in for the CM manager in priority meetings and tasks.
• Develop and mentor team members, removing single points of failure.
• Identify and manage priorities to protect aircraft delivery schedules.
• Partner with programme and manufacturing teams to meet deadlines and communicate risks.
• Check and approve deliverables for wing‑level and Tier‑1 suppliers.
• Roll out procedures, champion best practice and integrate advanced tools such as SAP.

Required profile

• Degree (BSc/BEng) with at least 3 years engineering experience, or HNC/HND with at least 5 years experience.
• Proven ability to interact with senior management, customers, suppliers and regulatory authorities.
• Experience leading and motivating a specialist engineering team in a changing environment.
• Project‑management experience with a track record of delivering departmental solutions.

• SAP S/4HANA (configuration management module).
• Catia / Enovia.
• Optegra / PDM.
• MAXIM.
• CAPP (or other ERP systems).
• Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access, Planisware.
• Opentext.
