Connecting Families Specialist Keyworker (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Connecting Families Specialist Keyworker provides direct support to children, their families and wider networks to help children remain within their own families. This is a six‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position (37 hours per week) based in Bristol City Council’s City Hall with regular visits to local neighbourhoods.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside the child’s allocated social worker to deliver relational support.
• Facilitate Family Network Meetings that encourage families to find their own solutions.
• Use systemic practice, mediation and Non‑Violent Resistance parenting strategies to address dynamics, trauma and resilience.
• Maintain clear, reflective records of all interventions and meetings.
• Collaborate with the team of eight keyworkers, the manager, deputy service managers and the systemic practice team.

Required profile

• Ability to build trusting relationships with children, families and professionals.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Curiosity and the capacity to ask insightful questions.
• Willingness to work both in an office setting and in community locations.
• Eligibility for an Enhanced DBS check.
