Construction Manager

About the role

A leading main contractor is seeking a Construction Manager to take full responsibility for a key industrial build project in the Ilkeston area. The role involves overseeing the delivery of a shed‑type structure together with associated civil works and hard landscaping.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the on‑site delivery of the industrial build, ensuring quality, safety and schedule adherence.
• Manage the project programme and adjust plans as required.
• Oversee commercial aspects in collaboration with the project Quantity Surveyor.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, the on‑site construction team and the client.
• Maintain site certifications and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven track record as the primary site manager on similar new‑build industrial schemes.
• Strong technical knowledge of new‑build construction, structural steel buildings and civil works on brownfield sites, including drainage and access.
• Excellent communication skills across all project levels.
• Ability to manage programme and commercial elements effectively.
• Valid site certifications (CSCS, First Aid, SMSTS) and a full UK driving licence.
• Good IT proficiency.
