Construction Materials Technician Apprenticeship (Level 3)

About the role

This Level 3 apprenticeship offers hands‑on experience testing construction materials both in a specialist laboratory and on active sites around London. You will work alongside experienced technicians, learning to prepare samples, operate testing equipment and record results to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and test material samples in the lab and on construction sites following recognised methods.
• Carry out basic checks and maintenance on specialist testing equipment.
• Label, store and manage samples ready for analysis.
• Complete worksheets and electronic records accurately, documenting test outcomes.
• Learn and apply quality and compliance procedures to guarantee reliable results.
• Gain exposure to both laboratory and field environments, building a broad practical skill set.

Required profile

• Enjoys working outdoors and travelling between sites.
• Practical, reliable and detail‑focused with a strong commitment to safety.
• Comfortable using basic maths and recording data.
• Able to work independently after training and communicate clearly with site teams.

What we offer

• Starting salary of £30,000 per year
• 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
