Construction Quality Checker – Manchester

About the role

We are looking for a Construction Quality Checker to join our Manchester construction team. The role involves inspecting and measuring finished precast concrete structural elements on‑site, ensuring they meet design specifications, tolerances and finish standards. You will work closely with the Building Handover Manager and General Foreman to support a “right first‑time” quality culture.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all installed precast elements for geometry, tolerance, alignment and finish using digital and manual measuring tools.
• Record compliance, identify non‑conformances and upload findings, photos and checklists into the Novade system.
• Verify that repairs or corrective actions are completed before handover and maintain defect logs.
• Support the Handover Manager in preparing QA packs, closure records and daily briefings.
• Liaise with foremen, operatives and subcontractors to schedule inspections and resolve defects.
• Comply with PCE health & safety policies, wear appropriate PPE and report hazards via Novade.

Required profile

• Valid CSCS card.
• Experience in construction quality control or inspection, preferably with precast or in‑situ concrete.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and escalation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital measuring tools and software.
• Competence using manual measuring tools such as levels, gauges and tape.
• Experience with Novade QA/inspection software.
