Construction Solicitor (Non-Contentious) – Newcastle upon Tyne

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Solicitor/Associate with at least two years of post‑qualification experience to join a leading regional commercial law firm in Newcastle upon Tyne. The successful candidate will work within a specialist Construction, Engineering & Projects team, providing non‑contentious advice to a diverse client base on complex construction matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate construction contracts, including JCT and NEC forms.
• Advise on professional appointments, collateral warranties and related documentation.
• Support clients on large‑scale development and infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, funders and investors.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and help grow the practice.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years PQE in construction law.
• Strong experience in non‑contentious construction matters.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate JCT and NEC contracts, professional appointments and collateral warranties.
• Excellent communication, drafting and negotiation skills.
• Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to client advice.
