Construction Tutor – Bootle

About the role

SWRAC is looking for a Construction Tutor to join its Bootle centre. The role combines classroom teaching with hands‑on construction activities, supporting learners with additional learning needs to develop practical skills and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and organise course materials and practical activities.
• Plan and deliver engaging construction lessons, both theoretical and practical.
• Support learners in achieving individual learning goals and accredited qualifications.
• Develop learners’ practical construction skills, health‑and‑safety awareness and employability competencies.
• Track, monitor and record learner progress and adapt teaching methods as needed.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, families and external professionals.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health‑and‑safety and organisational policies.
• Complete required paperwork promptly and maintain programme quality to meet IQA/EQA standards.
• Promote wellbeing, attend networking events and encourage independence.

Required profile

• Background in construction, trades, site supervision or vocational training.
• Passion for helping young people with additional learning needs.
• Ability to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
