Consultant in General/Acute Medicine (Locum)

About the role

The Belfast Trust has a locum requirement for an Acute/General Internal Medicine consultant to work in Mater Hospital. The initial period is 6 months, with a view to extending it pending successful recruitment. The vacancy is advertised through Direct Medics, a recruitment agency placing healthcare professionals in locum roles.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration plus a Licence to Practice, held at the time of appointment.
• Fellowship or membership of the Royal College of Physicians, or other equivalent qualification.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine via CCT, with a proposed CCT date within 6 months of closing; or CESR or European Community rights.
• Demonstrable written and spoken English skills sufficient for medical communication with patients and colleagues.
• Access to transport to move between sites and eligibility to work in the UK under UK Visa and Immigration regulations.
• At least 6 months of medical experience in this role or a similar one in the UK.
