Consultant in Plastic Surgery – Skin Cancer Specialist

About the role

The role is a Consultant in Plastic Surgery with a special interest in skin cancer at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. The department delivers a 7‑day consultant‑led service covering trauma, elective skin cancer, hand, breast, abdominal and congenital plastic surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver elective skin cancer surgery, including clinics, operating lists and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Develop a one‑stop skin cancer service for two‑week‑wait patients.
• Manage a general plastic surgery caseload across trauma and elective pathways.
• Run a Plastic Urgent Care clinic for open injuries and oversee the associated trauma list.
• Participate in an on‑call rota (1:8) providing emergency cover, ward rounds and urgent care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Frimley North, Frimley South and partner hospitals.

Required profile

• Qualified plastic surgeon with consultant‑level experience.
• Ability to work flexibly and cohesively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to service development, teaching and research.
• Registration with the General Medical Council and eligibility to work in the UK.

• Abdominal wall reconstruction.
• Congenital plastic surgery (e.g., polydactyly, syndactyly).
