Consultant in Stroke/General Rehabilitation Medicine

About the role

The Fife Rehabilitation Service is seeking a Consultant in Stroke and General Rehabilitation Medicine to join a multidisciplinary team delivering inpatient, outpatient and community services. You will work closely with specialist nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians and clinical psychologists to provide high‑quality care for patients across Fife.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop stroke and general rehabilitation pathways within the service.
• Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis and management for complex rehabilitation cases.
• Collaborate with acute stroke units, trauma teams and neurosurgery to ensure seamless patient transitions.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
• Contribute to service development, audit and research initiatives.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Specialist training in Rehabilitation Medicine (MRCP(UK) or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in stroke and general rehabilitation care.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork and continuous service improvement.
