Contact Centre Advisor – On‑Site Customer Service Role

About the role

Join a dynamic customer service team as a Contact Centre Advisor, providing the first point of contact for Hertfordshire citizens and businesses. You will work on‑site in Stevenage, delivering advice and support through phone and digital channels while helping to digitise council services.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and e‑service enquiries from the public.
• Provide accurate, friendly advice on council services.
• Log and track customer requests efficiently.
• Support the digitisation of services to improve user experience.
• Follow agreed processes to maintain high service standards.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Polite telephone manner and strong customer‑service orientation.
• Previous experience in a contact centre or similar role (preferred).
• PC literacy with comfortable use of keyboards and technology.
• Familiarity with web‑chat and social‑media platforms for multi‑channel support.
• Resilience to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and established processes.
• Verified right‑to‑work documentation.
