Contentious Probate Solicitor – High‑Value Cases

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join our growing regional law firm in Reading. You will work on high‑value disputes for medium and high‑net‑worth clients, handling complex probate and trust matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of contentious probate and trust disputes, including Inheritance Act claims and will challenges.
• Assist the Partner with complex, high‑value cases and provide strategic legal advice.
• Represent clients in court, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate closely with an experienced team to deliver expert legal support.

Required profile

• 4+ years post‑qualification experience in Contentious Probate or litigation with probate elements.
• Strong knowledge of the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
• Excellent negotiation, advocacy and dispute‑resolution abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Client‑focused approach with strong communication skills.
