Continuous Improvement Manager – Defence Manufacturing

About the role

The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead data‑driven initiatives across sourcing and supply‑chain operations within a regulated defence engineering environment. This hands‑on leadership position focuses on Lean transformation, operational excellence, and measurable improvements to delivery capability and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean tools to improve flow, eliminate waste and standardise processes.
• Run cross‑functional workshops and operational reviews to identify and act on improvement opportunities.
• Analyse KPIs, ERP/SAP data and performance metrics to surface bottlenecks and drive change.
• Manage and develop a Continuous Improvement Analyst, providing coaching and guidance.
• Support operational readiness and embed a culture of excellence across procurement and supply‑chain teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in continuous improvement or operational excellence roles.
• Strong background in manufacturing, engineering, defence, aerospace or supply‑chain environments.
• Ability to operate in fast‑paced settings with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience influencing, challenging and driving change at senior levels.
• Previous people‑management or mentoring experience is advantageous.

Required skills

• Lean methodology (VSM, process mapping, root‑cause analysis, DMAIC, PDCA).
• ERP/SAP systems and KPI analysis.
• Data‑driven problem solving.
