Continuous Improvement Manager – Lean & Operational Excellence

About the role

The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead improvement initiatives across a structural steel fabrication and construction business. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will develop and embed a continuous improvement strategy, drive lean thinking and support cultural change throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a company‑wide continuous improvement strategy.
• Promote a culture of operational excellence and lean thinking.
• Identify and eliminate waste, inefficiencies and non‑value‑added activities across the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with tendering, design, fabrication, delivery and construction teams to optimise processes.
• Create structured systems for capturing, evaluating and acting on improvement ideas.
• Support teams in enhancing efficiency, quality, reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor KPIs and use data to measure the impact of improvement initiatives.
• Embed lean manufacturing principles at all workforce levels.
• Improve communication, collaboration and information flow between departments.
• Provide hands‑on coaching to ensure successful implementation of improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in continuous improvement or operational excellence within manufacturing or construction.
• Strong analytical ability and data‑driven decision making.
• Demonstrated capability to lead change and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work across the full project lifecycle from tender to handover.
