Contract Engineer – Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

About the role

We are seeking a Contract Engineer to lead the installation projects of refrigeration, air handling and air‑conditioning systems for our clients in Reading and the surrounding area. You will act as the main point of contact from order receipt through to commissioning, ensuring high‑quality service and compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Project‑manage the installation of refrigeration, air‑conditioning, chillers and air handling units (AHU) on customer sites.
• Coordinate with in‑house installation engineers and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Conduct site visits to plan jobs, provide technical advice and resolve on‑site issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all health, safety and environmental policies are followed.
• Serve as the primary liaison for customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Technical knowledge of refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems.
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues and subcontractors.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
• Clean, current driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
• Based in or around Reading.
