Contract Implementation and Compliance Manager

About the role

The NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking an experienced Contract Implementation & Compliance Manager to lead procurement and contracting activities within its Procurement department at Ayrshire Central Hospital. This fixed‑term position will oversee a diverse portfolio of contracts, ensuring value for money and compliance with NHS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a large and varied contract portfolio across the health service.
• Lead end‑to‑end procurements, from requirement identification to contract award, applying best‑practice sourcing principles.
• Analyse and report on products, suppliers, and tender evaluations to inform decision‑making.
• Organise product trials, assess usage, identify savings opportunities and implement improvements.
• Maximise cost savings and efficiencies throughout the contracting process.
• Develop and maintain relationships with a range of suppliers.
• Drive service‑delivery enhancements through adoption of best practices.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent.
• Professional or postgraduate qualification in Purchasing and Supplies (e.g., CIPS Diploma) or comparable experience.
• Proven procurement experience with extensive stakeholder interaction.
• Demonstrated success in procurement and change‑management initiatives.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Extensive experience with computerised supply‑chain systems and data analysis/presentation.
• Background in applying best‑practice procurement processes in a dynamic environment.
