Contracts Manager

About the role

We are recruiting a Contracts Manager for a forward‑looking construction business in Exeter. The role bridges project delivery and commercial performance, offering a senior‑level professional the chance to shape the company’s future.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safe, high‑quality delivery across new builds and refurbishments.
• Set and maintain health and safety standards and drive a zero‑defects culture.
• Plan, manage and challenge project programmes, ensuring commercial targets are met.
• Oversee compliance with company procedures, RFI and CVI processes.
• Build and develop capable project teams while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Develop procurement strategies aligned to programme needs and lead design for buildability and value.

Required profile

• Experience delivering large‑scale or complex projects up to £10 million, preferably across multiple workstreams.
• Strong understanding of health & safety, quality and compliance.
• Solid commercial awareness with experience managing cost, cash flow and profit.
• Programme management experience, preferably using Asta Powerproject.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, supply chains and design processes.

• CSCS card
• First Aid at work certification
