Contracts Specialist – Procurement (PYCS)

About the role

A challenging and impactful vacancy for a Procurement Contracts Specialist has opened within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Filton (UK) as the primary location, with the option of Toulouse (France). You will be a vital member of the PYCS Department, managing and negotiating complex procurement contracts across Systems and Equipment, Cabin, and Propulsion Systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide contractual expertise to buyers and commodity management during procurement negotiations, including face‑to‑face supplier discussions and back‑office support.
• Support Call for Tenders by approving contractual baselines, assessing bid contracts, preparing negotiations and overseeing award processes.
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual implications of supplier initiatives such as confidentiality and intellectual‑property matters.
• Draft ad‑hoc contractual documents and approve final contractual documentation before signature.
• Analyse contracts throughout their lifecycle, handling amendments, disputes, supplier insolvency and pre‑litigation claim preparation.
• Ensure consistency, quality and compliance of negotiated documents with applicable laws, regulations and Airbus requirements.
• Identify key contractual risks for stakeholder review and develop or enhance training and awareness modules with Procurement.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a legal or procurement role.
• Strong contract negotiation skills.
• Customer‑oriented with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Analytical, rigorous and able to explain complex topics to diverse stakeholders.
• Pragmatic approach to balancing contractual and business risks.
• Keen interest in contracts with prior experience in both drafting and negotiation.
• Fluent oral and written English (essential for contract documentation).
