Control Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Control Engineer to join Osbit’s fast‑growing offshore wind team in Edinburgh. You will translate customer requirements into robust control solutions for marine and hazardous environments, ensuring projects are delivered on spec, on budget and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Specify and design control system circuits and associated documentation.
• Develop, simulate and program PLC, HMI/SCADA and safety‑critical software.
• Configure and commission inverter drives and perform on‑site fault finding.
• Review and approve electrical schematics, calculations and system architecture.
• Conduct functional safety studies and ensure compliance with DNV or other relevant standards.
• Select, procure and liaise with suppliers for control system components.
• Support sales proposals with technical input.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and commissioning safety‑automation and control systems for marine or hazardous applications.
• Strong understanding of PLC programming for safety and process control.
• Hands‑on on‑site commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
• Open‑minded, adaptable and able to work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team.
