Controller/Planner – Patient Transport Operations (Bristol)

About the role

We are seeking an organised and analytical Controller/Planner to join our Patient Transport Service team in Bristol. You will be responsible for planning and controlling a high‑volume, time‑critical transport operation, ensuring patient journeys are scheduled to meet strict KPIs such as on‑time arrivals and safe returns.

Key responsibilities

• Check and plan daily and future bookings using the Cleric controlling system.
• Allocate patients to the appropriate vehicle type and crew based on mobility, clinical and safety requirements.
• Dispatch and manage operational crews to achieve on‑time collections, deliveries and return journeys.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and departments to optimise vehicle and staff utilisation.
• Monitor KPI performance throughout the day and adjust resources as needed.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for route planning and logistics.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern between 07:00 and 20:00, five days a week.
• Good communication skills for interaction with hospital teams, subcontractors and volunteers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Cleric controlling system.
