Controls Manager - Risk Advisory Services

About the role

We are seeking a Controls Manager for our Risk Advisory Services team in Manchester. The role will lead internal control assessments and develop risk management frameworks for a medium‑sized professional services firm.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee internal control assessments ensuring compliance with best practices and regulations.
• Design and implement risk management frameworks tailored to client requirements.
• Collaborate with clients to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiency.
• Provide strategic risk advisory advice to support client decision‑making.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of professionals to deliver project objectives.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports to stakeholders.
• Maintain strong client relationships to ensure long‑term satisfaction.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Required profile

• Academic background in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Proven experience in internal controls, risk management and advisory services.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Experience managing teams and delivering projects on time.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive attitude towards industry developments.
