Conventional Machinist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Conventional/CNC Machinist to join a specialist plastics machining company based near Leeds. You will work on a variety of plastic components, from one‑off prototypes to small production runs, in a safe and progressive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate conventional lathes and milling machines to turn and mill plastic parts.
• Set up and run CNC equipment, including XYZ 560 and XYZ TC320 machines with Siemens controls.
• Program and operate CNC Dynamics, Bridgeport vacuum flat‑bed routers and Alpha CAM systems.
• Produce high‑quality components to tight tolerances, handling batches up to 100 units.
• Maintain machine tools, perform routine checks and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in conventional machining, manual turning and milling of plastic components.
• Familiarity with Colchester lathes and Bridgeport milling machines is a distinct advantage.
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret CNC programmes.
• Commitment to a 38‑hour day‑shift schedule, Monday‑Friday.
