Conveyancer – Residential Property Specialist

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established law firm in Newcastle upon Tyne to find an experienced Conveyancer / Conveyancing Solicitor to join their busy residential property team. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of residential transactions while working within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a residential conveyancing caseload of approximately 90‑120 files from instruction to completion.
• Handle complex matters such as leasehold, remortgages, transfers of equity, new builds, shared ownership, company purchases and auctions.
• Review title reports, sign off files for exchange and ensure efficient progression with high client‑care standards.
• Meet time‑recording, billing and performance targets.
• Conduct regular file reviews for compliance, accuracy and quality.
• Support and mentor junior fee‑earners, sharing knowledge and best practice.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and process improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience independently managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload.
• Strong technical knowledge of residential property transactions and ability to resolve complex issues proactively.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality and compliance.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload effectively.
