Conveyancing Assistant – Residential Property (2+ years experience)

About the role

This is a full‑time position within a well‑established Cheshire law firm’s residential conveyancing team. You will work alongside experienced conveyancers and solicitors, handling a variety of property transactions from instruction to post‑completion.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and solicitors.
• Open new files and manage transactions through the conveyancing process.
• Draft legal documents, correspondence and completion statements.
• Order searches and review conveyancing documentation.
• Prepare exchange and completion packs.
• Assist with post‑completion matters and Land Registry applications.
• Update case management systems and maintain accurate records.
• Provide proactive support to fee earners to ensure efficient progress.

Required profile

• At least 2 years’ experience in a UK residential conveyancing department.
• Experience with freehold and leasehold sales and purchases.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent client care and communication abilities.
• Proactive, positive attitude and ambition for a long‑term property law career.

Required skills

• Knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures.
• Familiarity with freehold and leasehold transaction processes.
