About the role

As a Cook at Highwood Care Home, you will prepare and serve nutritious, high‑quality meals for up to 67 residents, supporting their wellbeing and daily routine. The role offers a consistent, balanced schedule with no late evenings or split shifts, allowing you to focus on delivering comforting food in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain strict hygiene and food‑safety standards at all times.
• Assist with menu planning and ensure a varied, balanced dining experience.
• Work with fresh ingredients and uphold high presentation standards.
• Support the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen team.

Required profile

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food‑preparation role.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with a positive, reliable attitude.
