Cook – Residential Care Home

About the role

Prime Life is looking for a dedicated Cook to join the team at St Oggs, a residential care home for adults with learning, physical and mental health disabilities. You will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals that meet each resident’s dietary needs while supporting a dignified dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages in line with residents’ dietary requirements.
• Carry out quality checks on prepared food and storage conditions.
• Plan menus that reflect residents’ preferences and nutritional needs.
• Assist with food service to ensure a respectful dining environment.
• Maintain accurate stock records and order supplies following company policy and food‑safety regulations.
• Keep the kitchen clean and tidy, including deep‑cleaning tasks.

Required profile

• Patient, understanding and respectful attitude towards residents with diverse abilities.
• Experience as a cook, preferably with a Food Hygiene or Catering qualification (training can be provided).
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, safe meals in a care setting.
