Cook/Chef – Care Home

About the role

Excelcare Holdings is seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to join the team at its Neath Care Home in Milton Keynes. You will prepare nutritious, appealing meals for residents, supporting their health, dignity and enjoyment each day.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily menus using fresh ingredients, respecting individual dietary needs.
• Coordinate stock ordering with the Home Manager to stay within budget.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to align meals with care plans and risk assessments.
• Maintain kitchen quality‑assurance systems and supervise junior kitchen staff.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in catering or hospitality (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of experience cooking for large groups.
• Minimum 12 months managing a kitchen environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and staff.
