Corporate Counsel – M&A

About the role

You will provide pragmatic legal advice and support across a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters for a UK‑headquartered global engineering and manufacturing business.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver legal support on corporate matters, including M&A and strategic transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate high‑value, complex commercial contracts with customers, distributors, suppliers and partners.
• Support tender processes and respond to customer legal queries.
• Assist with legal and governance change initiatives and process‑improvement projects.
• Maintain and develop legal templates, playbooks, procedures and knowledge‑base materials.
• Instruct and manage external legal advisers when required.
• Support senior lawyers in the UK and internationally.
• Contribute to team development through knowledge sharing, training and mentoring.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 8 years post‑qualification experience.
• Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills and sound judgment.
• Analytical thinker who can solve complex legal issues creatively.
• Professional, proactive and detail‑oriented.
• Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
