Corporate Development Director - PE-Backed Buy-and-Build Platform

About the role

The Corporate Development Director will lead the M&A strategy for a newly created private‑equity‑backed buy‑and‑build platform operating in the specialist technical services market across the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the private equity sponsor, you will own the end‑to‑end acquisition process, from sourcing targets to post‑merger integration.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the Group’s M&A strategy in line with the investment thesis.
• Originate, evaluate and close bolt‑on acquisitions typically sized at £1m‑£5m EBITDA.
• Lead the full deal lifecycle: due diligence, negotiation, structuring, execution and integration.
• Coordinate financial, tax and legal due diligence teams and manage associated risks.
• Develop investment materials and maintain a proactive acquisition pipeline.
• Build and nurture relationships with business owners, advisors and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of transaction experience, currently in a Corporate Development role or similar.
• Prior experience in Investment Banking or M&A Advisory.
• Proven track record of mid‑market, buy‑and‑build acquisitions.
• Hands‑on experience managing financial, tax and legal due diligence.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive post‑merger integration.
